About 97% of scientist support the fact that human activities are slowly increasing the Earth’s temperature. Every year, temperatures (surface temp. rose 2°F since late 19th century), sea levels (rose 8 inches last century), and carbon dioxide levels are skyrocketing. Glaciers, ice sheets, and sea ice are melting rapidly. All this changed as human pollution and activities (such as fracking, greenhouse gas emissions, and coal burning) increased.
More specifically, 16 of the 17 warmest years on record occurred since 2001. The Union of Concerned Scientists furthers, "A study from 2016 found that without the emissions from burning coal and oil, there is very little likelihood that 13 out of the 15 warmest years on record would all have happened.". This shows that greenhouse gas emission, an action which humans are fully held responsible for, accounts for the rising temperatures and changing climates.
